KATY VOGELAAR
DNP, APRN, FNP-C, CNE

Dr. Katy Vogelaar, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, CNE is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor University’s Louise Herrington School of Nursing. A proud two-time Baylor alumna (BSN ’09, DNP ’17), she is dedicated to preparing future nurses and nurse practitioners for impactful practice across diverse healthcare settings.

Her professional and scholarly work centers on improving healthcare access for the uninsured and underinsured. She has extensive clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, and allergy and asthma care, and she has led faith-based clinics serving uninsured populations in Dallas and Waco, Texas. In addition to her faculty role, she continues active practice in an allergy and asthma clinic and volunteers weekly at Highland Wellness Center Urgent Care in McLennan County.

Dr. Vogelaar is a committed educator, leader, and advocate. She has served on multiple Baylor nursing committees and as chair of the Louise Herrington School of Nursing Faculty Organization. Her research focuses on access to care for the uninsured and cultural competency. She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Texas Nurse Practitioners, where she serves on the Wellness Committee. Her philanthropic work extends globally, with service in international medical missions to Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Kenya.
