This award is one of the highest honors given at our annual conference, and is presented to an individual who has gone above and beyond advocating for the profession and Texas patients. This year the Advocate Award goes to Peggy Ostrander.

Thanks to the efforts of Dr. Ostrander and TNP’s legislative ambassadors, a full practice authority measure was considered and adopted into the Republican party platform at the state convention in June. A full practice authority measure also passed in the Permanent Resolutions Committee at the state Democratic Convention in July. Dr. Ostrander didn’t attend just one of the conventions – she attended both! This is just one of many examples of Peggy’s tireless effort to advocate for NPs and patients over the years – we are so grateful for all her efforts.
