STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD

MEGAN DOIRON
DNP, APRN, NNP-BC

The Student Leadership award was developed to recognize students for

their excellence in academic performance through a formal or informal leadership role and involvement with TNP. This year’s Student Leadership Award goes to Megan Doiron.

Dr. Megan Doiron is a board-certified NNP. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University in 2006 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice in the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner track from Baylor University in 2022. Dr. Doiron has extensive experience as a registered nurse providing care to neonates in the newborn nursery, transition nursery, and Level II and IIIB neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) for over 16 years. She is currently working to transition her clinical care to an advanced NNP role to expand the services she provides for her patients. She enjoys empowering parents to bond with and care for their infants and providing education about their baby’s progressing capabilities.

Dr. Doiron’s scholarly interests span medical missions, healthcare policy, and anti-trafficking advocacy. She has traveled to Hyderabad and Bengaluru, India, as well as McAllen, Texas for medical missions supporting women, children, neonates, and asylum-seeking and refugee

Her current research, peer-reviewed publications, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice projects span a range of topics including point-of-care ultrasound in the NICU, infant safe sleep, child trafficking, pediatric and neonatal palliative care, and simulation in education for nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
