Her career expanded to perinatal, family planning, gynecology, nursing education, leadership, community outreach, and sexual assault forensic examination. During her career, Tanieka has also precepted many nursing and APRN students from her Alma Mata and other nursing programs in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex. Ever the student, she earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice at TWU in May 2024.

As a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Tanieka is passionate about providing quality family planning so every woman can exercise autonomy over their reproductive health. To this end, she completed and presented her DNP project, Increasing the Utilization of Emergency Contraception in Reproductive-Age Women: An Evidence-Based Practice Quality Improvement Project, which aimed to improve contraceptive care for women vulnerable to unintended pregnancy. The outcomes of her project showed a 160% increase in emergency contraception utilization in her practice setting.

Tanieka has worked tirelessly to encourage women across multiple areas of Dallas County as a provider, preceptor, and fellow student. Tanieka has positively impacted a major healthcare system in Dallas County and her leadership abilities will continue to impact Nurse Practitioners across the state of Texas.
