Shibi A. Kunjumon, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, CCD Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner and Bone Health Specialist at UTMB Health, with over 17 years of healthcare experience, including more than a decade dedicated to orthopedic Surgery and spine care. As a Fracture Liaison Practitioner and Bone Health Advocate, deeply committed to osteoporosis care, secondary fracture prevention, and the management of metabolic bone diseases.
Through her leadership and community outreach initiatives, Dr. Kunjumon has played a pivotal role in expanding bone health services across multiple Texas counties, with a particular focus on postmenopausal women and men over age 70 at high risk for osteoporosis. She has helped establish comprehensive bone health programs serving more than 5,250 patients and currently manages 2,900 individuals living with osteoporosis. Her efforts have significantly improved access to high-quality osteoporosis care and strengthened local standards for bone density screening and early detection.
Dr. Kunjumon is widely recognized for her compassionate, patient-centered approach and her unwavering commitment to improving community health. Her dedication to service, education, and clinical innovation has made a meaningful impact on osteoporosis awareness and exceptional care across the Galveston and Houston region.
