DNP, Psychiatric and Mental Health
Azuka “Debbie” Onyekwe is pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric and Mental Health at the University of Texas Health Science at Houston.
As a member of the Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP) and as someone passionate about serving underserved populations with complex medical needs, obtaining a PMHNP DNP degree will help her provide high-quality mental health care to those most in need. The knowledge and skills she will gain through this program will be invaluable in not only meeting the needs of this population but also improving their overall well-being. Debbie’s involvement with TNP has not only enriched her professional development but also fueled her dedication to advocating for the nursing profession.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Debbie has been actively involved in volunteer work, contributing to meaningful projects and initiatives. Receiving this scholarship, she feels, is a significant milestone. She is immensely grateful for the support and recognition from the TNP Foundation. She looks forward to continuing her education and contributing to advancements in healthcare.
