GILDA MARTINEZ
Gilda E. Martinez, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Assistant Professor in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Her clinical practice encompasses the care of patients with complex cardiovascular diseases, including cardiothoracic and aortic surgery, advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and mechanical circulatory.
Her scholarly and quality-improvement efforts are focused on cardiovascular patient education, shared decision-making, and optimizing care transitions with particular emphasis on developing equitable, Spanish-language educational resources.
She is a FAANP mentee, the Co-Chair for the Houston Area Nurse Practitioners education committee. Ms. Martinez has been a national presenter on cardiothoracic and aortic disease topics relevant to advanced practice providers.
