The Best Student Poster was: A DNP Quality Improvement Project to Evaluate the Impact of the 2021 CDC HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Guidelines in a Student Health Clinic. The updated 2021 HIV PrEP guidelines highlight the USPSTF recommendation to educate all sexually active adults about HIV PrEP instead of providing counseling based on the patient’s self-reported risk or health care provider’s perception of HIV acquisition.
The project aims to bring a Student Health Clinic into compliance with the 2021 CDC HIV PrEP Guidelines by implementing a new sustainable workflow process to ensure all eligible patients receive HIV PrEP and a thorough plan of care to promote best practices.
