Texas Nurse Practitioners is pleased to announce that Greer Gregory will join the organization as Government Affairs Director on September 14. Gregory brings extensive experience in Texas legislative affairs, healthcare policy, and regulatory engagement.

Most recently, Gregory served as committee director for the Texas House Committee on Insurance. She previously held the same position for a House committee focused on healthcare reform. In these roles, she helped draft and negotiate healthcare legislation, gained extensive knowledge of the legislative process, and built strong relationships with elected officials, legislative staff, and healthcare stakeholders.

Gregory also worked with the Texas Association of Health Plans, where she led the organization’s engagement with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission on behalf of Medicaid managed care organizations. Her responsibilities included monitoring agency actions and rulemaking, drafting formal comments, preparing legislative testimony, participating in agency workgroups, and helping develop and advance Medicaid policy priorities.

She earned both her undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from The University of Texas at Austin.

As Government Affairs Director, Gregory will lead TNP’s legislative and regulatory efforts, strengthen relationships with policymakers and healthcare partners, and advocate for policies that support nurse practitioners and expand Texans’ access to high-quality healthcare.

Gregory will attend TNP’s Annual Conference later this month, providing members with an opportunity to meet her and welcome her to the TNP team.
