Congratulations to Kimberly Posey, PhD, DNP, APRN, AGPCNP-BC, GS-C, who has recently been appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to serve on the Texas Nursing Facility Administrators Advisory Committee.
This important committee plays a critical role in advising the Texas Health and Human Services Commission on matters related to standards of care and licensure for nursing facility administrators. As an NP deeply committed to the care of older adults and long-term care policy, Kim looks forward to representing the shared values of all NPs and contributing to this important work. She is grateful for the opportunity to represent Texas NPs on the committee and hopes to bring the collective Texas NP voice and expertise to the table to shape policies that directly impact our patients and profession.
Kim Posey is the Director of Graduate Nursing and Associate Professor of Professional Practice at Texas Christian University and has been an active TNP member since 2011. She also serves as the President-Elect for the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association and has been named a Distinguished Educator in Gerontological Nursing by the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence.
